Dr. Abby Fowler

Dr. Abby Fowler  was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma in 1980 to Fred and Sharon Hogle.  She graduated from Hilldale High School in 1998.  She then performed her undergraduate studies at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater and at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah where she received a Bachelor of Science in Biology.

Dr. Fowler continued her education at one of the few private optometry schools in the country, Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

While at Nova, Dr. Fowler completed another Bachelor of Science degree in Vision Science along with a Doctorate degree in Optometry in 2006.  While in optometry school, Dr. Fowler completed several specialty internships including Pediatric and Binocular Vision/Vision Therapy and in specialty contact lens fittings.

Dr. Fowler is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians.

In 2006, Dr. Fowler was honored with the Cooper Vision Contact Association Excellence Award.  Dr. Fowler  believes strongly in giving back.  Two times a year, Dr. Fowler  travels to Mexico to perform free eye exams for the less fortunate. Additionally, she is an active supporter of numerous charities that assist those whom cannot afford exams. Dr. Fowler  was quoted as saying, “Preventative eye care is essential, regardless of your financial status.  Each person deserves to be treated with respect and equality and receive these services.  I firmly believe that it is our moral obligation to help those less fortunate than ourselves.”

In May 2008, Dr. Fowler achieved her dream by opening her own practice.  Advanced Vision Center started with one staff member in a 1,200 sq ft building. Dr. Fowler learned early on that the patient experience coupled with a unique atmosphere is what would set her apart. Adhering to these values, Advanced Vision Care Center grew rapidly. Dr. Fowler built and opened a new 4,600 sq ft building on the same property while adding an additional 6 employees.  The new facility features a 1,800 sq ft optical area, 5 exam rooms, contact lens fitting room, and a specialty testing room where retinal imaging services are performed.
